About these terms
These terms cover Ownlight desktop (“Ownlight”), a desktop workspace for AI coding agents. Ownlight is made and sold by Raymundo Ojeda (“we” or “us”).
By buying, downloading or using Ownlight, you agree to these terms.
Your licence
- A licence is for one person. You can install and use Ownlight on all of your own machines.
- You may not sell, rent, share or transfer your licence key, and you may not redistribute Ownlight.
- You may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble Ownlight, except where the law allows it.
- Ownlight is licensed to you, not sold. We keep all rights that these terms don’t give you.
Buying Ownlight
Checkout is hosted by Stripe. Stripe is the merchant of record for your purchase, and checkout shows this as “Sold through Link”. Stripe processes your payment and handles sales tax and VAT.
After you pay, you land on a page that shows your licence key. We also e-mail the key to you from licences@ownlight.ai.
To activate, open Settings > Updates and licence > Enter licence key. Activation works offline. You don’t need an account.
Price and tax
Ownlight is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription.
The founder price is $69 for early buyers. After that, the price is $99.
Tax is included in the price shown.
Free trial
You can use Ownlight free for 14 days. The trial runs in the app. Download it first, and buy a licence when you’re ready.
Updates
Your licence includes all future updates of Ownlight. Licence keys do not expire.
Refunds
If Ownlight isn’t right for you, you can ask for a refund within 30 days of purchase. Write to support@ownlight.ai. No questions asked.
A refunded licence may stop activating in later releases.
AI services
Ownlight works with the AI agents, accounts and model providers you choose. They are separate services with their own terms and charges. AI subscriptions and API usage are not part of your purchase.
No warranty
Ownlight is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. We don’t promise that it will be free of errors or run without interruption.
AI agents can change files and run commands on your computer. Review their work, and keep backups of anything important.
Limit of liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost data, lost profits or lost work. Our total liability for any claim about Ownlight is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States.
